This is going to be a big year of fundraising and running for me!
I've been volunteering with Faith in Christ Ministries in some capacity for several years now. However helping and leading the "Create Your Own Ideal" Mentoring Program for teenage youth is the position that has brought me the most joy and fulfillment. I've been privileged to work with some amazing mentors and together we work one-on-one to mentor and disciple middle school and high school students . We help them with their academics and try to encourage emotional and spiritual development. Some of our kids come from really tough home situations and it's important for them to have individuals in their life who are rooting and praying for them.
Faith in Christ Ministries is an awesome ministry run by Pastor Joe and Gwynn Browne. They provide many ministries to their local neighborhood through their food programs, homeless and women's ministries. However they have a desire to expand and enhance their after school programs in order to influence and help develop youth to be leaders in their communities. This year our goal is to raise $10,000 through the Say YES 5k/ Run Walk for the Say Yes and Create your own ideal mentoring program. These funds would allow them to hire an intern to run these programs and allow us to take the students on more outings, provide meals and transportations etc.
But to do all this we need help! I've listed ways below that you can assist
1. Donate funds and sponsor me as I run to raise money for these programs.
2. Register and Participate in the 5k on May 14th. Registration is $25
3. Come volunteer at FICM. There's a breakfast every Saturday morning, food giveways, bible studies, kids clubs and numerous other ways to get involved
